It is still so interesting to remember when I was a kid my dream was to be a biologist. Every sunday I went to my aunt’s biology experiment studio just to see those specimens of different creatures. Nature keeps inspiring me more and more in recent years especially since I work as an artist. That’s why I love Marta Mattsson‘s works, who is a jewelry artist from Sweden.
Do you love insects? Emm…I think we love and hate them at the same time, however, I have to admit that they look so beautiful somehow. It was very popular to collect specimens of animals and insects in England at 18 century, was inspired by that age, Marta’s insects jewelry designs are full of victorian emotions. She wants to show her curiosity and respects to these creatures and mysterious nature. She did it perfectly, actually these laser cut gold, metal accessories of butterflies, beetles, even fossils could become unbelievable glamours by her magical hands, the cut lace collars are just too dreamy.
