Day to day life you walk around in the world, your senses overcome each second with many images that make an impression on your mind, they drift off and leave a sense of emotion and feeling. Evoking from within you emotions, moving you to some sort of place that comforts you. When I asked myself “How did the design on this dress make me feel?”, the answer came that it made me happy. Good design brings people to a place in their head, one of warmth is the best that can be described, and a sense of wonder and appreciation washes over me each time I see great designs if it is this dress, a design in a film, or print..any.
I always try then to wear clothes that have this effect on me, on my mind. Appreciation for good design (in all its forms) really does come with time, can almost feel the evolution of my tastes for design over time. Kind of like a Darwinian appreciation for design no?
Every day life offers us all vast amounts of information to design from, inspirations that can never stop even in a simple day to day life there is so much to see and take in. Architectures, Art, Decorations, small items…But from my opinion nature is the best designer that there ever was and ever will be. It is astounding how many shapes, colors, patterns, different diversities there are all around us. If you go threw your city or park anywhere you can see these patterns and shapes. I think this is where the source of these design comes from when you see it on a dress or any clothing. We use what we can from nature (not just our abilities) but most things are already provided for us, all we have to do it be imaginative in mixing and putting these resources to good use in our minds, so that we may create amazing things!
One example I use a lot if the spirals of sea creatures on their hard shells, the colors as well are so vibrant and strong with patterns which are almost design. Or birds for example with their bright colors, a peacock, zebras, leopard skin, bird feathers patterns in print, butterflies which I have used in my own posts, insect design of their intricate shell…..and so on. Next time you see a design ask yourself “Where did this pattern/color/or shape come from? What inspired the designer?”
OH and Milan, of course it was an amazing place, everyone seems to be very stylish in this fast paced “Coffee to GO!” city with it’s unique people and food. Every city in Italy sees to be amazingly different , each unique almost as if you are moving from country to country when in fact the whole time your still in Italy.

很漂亮!! Your description on how you gather inspiration is lovely. “We use what we can from nature (not just our abilities) but most things are already provided for us, all we have to do it be imaginative in mixing and putting these resources to good use in our minds, so that we may create amazing things!” I so agree! This is my mindset when it comes to photography. 🙂 Have an amazing and inspirational time in Italy!

It is so inspiring to read about your inspiration! And I think you are so right. Nature is the first. All that we create is somehow grounded in Nature, and the inspiration can therefore always turn back to Nature! We really must appreciate the greatest, most beautiful design ever created: Nature!
